Version 0.18 release

This minor release adds a link to donate to this project. FF9 Companion was recently released, and the comments suggest that the demand of FF8 and FF10 companion applications is as string as ever. I'd like to very much to do these, and donations are powerful incentives. I'm planning on doing FF8 next (currently playing through it), so if this is something you'd like to see, why not donate?

Donate to further development

FF7C has been a big hit; over eleven thousand downloads at the time of this writing. I'm eager to produce similar applications for other FF titles, starting with FF9 (already started). But, I must still pay my rent @=\ . As a freelance developer, I put the effort into that which keeps me able to do what I do, and this requires money. If you wish, you may donate to the FF_C project through the link on the left. I can promise that your donations will speed up development of this application series!

Version 0.17 released

An bugfix update was released. This resolves the issue where having the internet preference on, but the cacheing preference off, would result the internet images being cached to the sdcard anyway. This was due to an inconsistent naming scheme.

Version 0.16 released

By popular demand, a category of Limit Breaks was added to FF7C. This section describes each character's Limit Break, including instructions of how to unlock it (or in the case of final limits, find them). This was brought about entirely by the demand as seen in user comments posted to the Market.

Comments are rare and valueable, and I am thankful for each one, positive or negative. The majority of android application developers rely on your feedback to refine (or abandon) their works, so I encourage every user to rate and post a comment about the applications they download. This is especially important for the applications you really like or use frequently. An awesome comment can really make someone's day, and remind the dev why they're making apps to begin with (to make users happy, or something along those lines).

Available in the Market now!

The Final Fantasy VII Companion is a pocket reference for the classic Playstation game, Final Fantasy VII, distributed as a free application for Android phones and devices. The app is ad-free, and free to download.

The application features data tables and descriptions of the game's materia, monsters, bosses, weapons, armor, and chocobos (wark!). And it's small, ~260KB, not counting the optional sdcard image cache.

Materia Data

Materia are organized by color (indicating their type). Each item displays a table showing the AP levels and the effects that level, along with an explanation of how to obtain the item.

Monster Tables

Each of the game's 250+ monsters are present, with detailed attributes, HP/MP, strengths, weaknesses, and locations.

Weapons and Armor

Weapons are organized by character, ordered by the attack power. Armor, which can be used by anyone are sorted by their regular defense (items with higher magic defense generally have poor regular defense). For each, we display their cost, location, AP growth, hit percentage, and visualize the available materia slots just as they are in the game.

Chocobo Breeding

Last, but not least, there is a short Chocobo Breeding guide, with everything you'll need to know to breed a Gold Chocobo.
